Despite my best efforts Tristan is not green fingered at all, and equally not interested in growing anything. This is the school given sunflower, finally on its spindly little stem getting higher than Tristan.

I treated it as an experiment to see what would happen if I left it up to Tristan - and now I know: frequent wilting, staking required and a variable stem indicating times of feast (when it rained) and famine (the rest of the time).
