This will be the sitting room. Furniture and wallpaper removed, and a new (unwelcome) word learned: distemper! We have a lot of this and the end effect seems to be that everything needs to be stripped back to the paster and the original (distemper) non-compatable with mocern life paint removed. Its as fun as it sounds!
Other suprises that we have 'enjoyed' in this room: 3 very decomposed pigeons behind the chimney board and the doors are clad in asbestos panelling. Did discover some nice original tiles but they are under about 10000 layers of paint so the archeology may have to come a lot later!
It includes furniture (not nice antiques), this is fairly typical of the standard, although most of the many picture are either cross-stitch or flowers by "Maureen". Oh yes, and every room has a sink!
