Christmas is coming - and so is the homespun pressure!

Tristan's first published er work (courtesy of school fundraising) - Christmas cards!

We made a gingerbread house - or assembled it Ikea style really. Tris was very excited to eat it but after I explained about probably 6 weeks worth of dust he changed his mind!

Tris was the star of the nativity. He came to me saying he had the best role and I was thinking Joseph or something until he announced proudly 'I'm The Robin'. Hmm I thought, and assumed that they had just bigged up the kids with the rubbish parts and assumed that it was the same as a sheep or camel role. Not so! This was a bird centric rendering and he had 12 lines (well let's face it we've peaked now at 5 so it can only be downhill from here...) . This is the photo from the press.

And we have a 5 year old!

Tristan has reached his half decade! And yes as everyone says it has gone extremely quickly and now here we are with a 5 year old with his own choices and preferences and,despite the school ground politics we even decided to celebrate with a party.

It was construction themed which was brilliant as it meant I got the easiest cake ever to do as any flaws were all part of the decor..

The biggest problem was making sure the scale of everything worked - that and keeping Sam's grubby fingers off the chocolate.

Tristan's writing is coming on although he is very keen on phonetics and English is a proving a bit of a disappointment (I've just broken it to him about the words 'write' and 'knight')!

Guitarman

Sam loves music and dancing (almost as much as football).

His belief in his moves is such that at a recent party he thought that the pass the parcel circle was a circle of admirers so danced in the middle non-stop.

Hallowe'en

We had quite a protracted Hallowe'en with two parties.

Sam was a cute pumpkin (a costume that Tristan had always refused to wear).

Tristan enjoyed apple bobbing with Evie followed by trick and treating (not a bumper year though) as he alias of batboy!
