Garden: pergola stage

No getting to the point of getting such an 'essential' thing as a pergola doesn't mean that everything else is done at all, just we have got bored of doing the inside and are (hoping for a lovely summer) moving back outside.

To get the patio done there are all sorts of steps that we didn't initially think of - get electricity to the back of the garden (so we can have a pond at some future point) and get a pergola up (to give the garden some shape) - we got used to having one in the last house and I bought a wisteria for this a year ago (everything in the right order! and the final (house half of the garden) will be going a new 'L-shaped' patio (February?). Then that's probably about it for the next 5 years (until we have recovered from the baby!).

...and this is the final bit of stage 1!

Career choices?

Tristan flips between wanting to be Fireman Sam when he is older and a digger man - we shall see...

New Year's Eve

We went up to St Annes to stay with Grandma and repeat Christmas with her, the cousins and Grandpa - and New Year (although with 4 small people it ended up being a fairly tame affair - kids in bed at 9pm adults not too long after!)

Here we all are tucking in. One present (a mini karaoke machine) proved a real hit with all ages (had been bought for the 2 year old Summer!)
... yes there's sound to this too!

(Now you can see why we weren't so keen with having to put up with that racket until midnight!)

London

We took papi and mami to London on 27th December (yes it was full of sale shoppers - most of them French). We went to The Winter wonderland first so Tristan couldn't sleep through it!

Here is Mami bravely doing her merry-go-round duty.

Close encounters of the squirrel kind. Papi started out pointing out the squirrels really excitedly but soon realised that they were everywhere. We tried to feed this one lemon cake, it wasn't impressed.

18 weeks to go...

Me (21 1/2 weeks pregnant)

Yep, Tristan must be doing something right as we have signed up for another one!


This (wonky picture no 1) is probably about to scale and shows our future baby (fingers crossed) at 8 weeks old...

A little bit of progress gets us to 12 weeks and a 7.5cm (but equally wonky) picture

Then on 28 December (neatly after the best of the sale stuff was gone, so no impetus to find out the gender!) we had the third scan and all well which was the best news ever. Tristan was most impressed to see it all, and found the foot sucking hilarious!

I found the following measurements fairly amusing as you can see a big head (great!), below average legs and an off the scale stomach! I think this may be an 'apple' shape! I guess we'll know more on or (if it follows Tristan 10 days after) 5th May.
