Food glorious food

We have started weaning Tristan (probably no more than 2 teaspoons a day if we are lucky). The ratio of food not in the mouth (indeed not even on him) to actually eaten is about 100:1

The first week we stuck to baby rice - which despite the picture on the box is pretty similar to wallpaper paste and about as tasty if Tristan's face is to be believed. These photos are of his first encounter with carrot (a success!) - which was the third thing we have tried. The first thing after rice was sweet potato - complete disgust, pear has been the only other thing and was pretty well received. Already he seems to prefer it if he feeds himself though, its just a shame that he sometimes mistakes his mouth for his ear!

Tristan has always been a difficult feeder (milk) so we decided that since he prefers feeding himself perhaps it would extend to milk too - this is his first experience with a baby cup which he had today and despite the colour he immediately took to it...
